Dr. Gabriel Dorn, PT, DPT, ATC

Certifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist

  • Registered Athletic Trainer

  • Certified in Dry Needling

Gabriel Dorn received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis Missouri and his Bachelors in Athletic Trainer at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. As a physical therapist he has worked with a variety of patient populations including individuals with short and long term musculoskeletal pain, athletes returning from an operation, cyclists, runners, and skiers.

Gabe's desire to work as a therapist grew out of an appreciation to live a healthy and active lifestyle. He spent his undergraduate years competing in collegiate cross country and this eventually brought him to the mountains of Colorado. When he is not working you can find him in the backcountry- running and biking on single track in the Summer and finding fresh powder in the Winter. He now trains for ultra marathons in the summer and skimo in the winter.

Gabe understands that there is little offseason for the active individual and applies this philosophy to his practice. His aims are to make individuals feel empowered no matter the season, their ability, or their injury.

Mark has been a trail, road, and ultramarathon runner and coach for the past decade, coaching adults at all levels and distances (5k to marathons to ultramarathons and all the way up to 100 milers). He is a Lydiard Training Certified coach, UESCA Certified Ultrarunning coach, three time Frontier League High School Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year, a published author for Ultrarunning Magazine, and a continual student of the sport.

Mark's love of running and coaching grew out of a desire to explore new mental and physical barriers he could break through as an athlete, and to connect more deeply with the outside world. Dr. Sammie Lewis, PT, DPT

Certifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist

  • Certified in Dry Needling

  • BS in Biomedical Engineering with specialization in biomechanics

Sammie’s passion for endurance started after a collegiate soccer career at The Ohio State University. She started in road marathons, including multiple Boston qualifying times, before being captivated by the camaraderie and adventure of trail running. She noticed that her peers often got injured and did not know which avenue to take- physical therapy for current injuries, get a coach for more structure, or do strength work for injury prevention? Why can’t all of them be combined?

Sammie received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado, where she is now also a part-time lecturer. She has since been specializing in the treatment of runners and other endurance athletes including the design of a gait analysis program. She doesn’t see strength work, training, and rehab as different entities, but as all being interwoven to form a complete and healthy athlete.

She has coached athletes for both road running and trail running at a variety of distances and is constantly looking to expand her knowledge. Her coaching philosophy includes combing the biomechanics and physiology of the most current research with the challenges of fitting training into everyday life. She highly values cross-training and strength training as supplemental parts of any athlete’s program, both for health and for performance.

Some of the Races/Events Sammie's Participated In or Coached:
